SURFACE |
Can be used on interior walls and trim, new wood, exterior trim, wood siding, properly primed metal.
|
USE |
For use on interior walls, cabinetry, millwork, walls, ceilings, trim, siding, AND exterior siding, trim, walls etc.
|
Prepare the room |
Remove or cover furniture, cover the floor with a drop cloth or plastic sheeting, and remove any wall fixtures or hardware.
|
SURFACE PREP |
Paint should be applied to clean dry surface, free of dust, grime, wax, debris, or other contaminants. Wash off dirt and grease with soap and allow to dry. New surfaces, dark colors, and high tannin wood should be primed. Pre-scuff glossy surfaces and sand peeling paint, then remove dust with wet cloth.
|
Repair any imperfections |
Fill in any cracks, holes, or dents with The Wall Spackle or putty. Allow it to dry fully, and then sand the area smooth.
|
COVERAGE |
1 gallon treats up to 350 sq. ft. Actual coverage varies based on application and surface type.
|
Protect surfaces |
Apply painter's tape along the edges of trim, baseboards, windows, and any other areas you want to keep paint-free.
|
Prime the walls
|
If you are painting over a dark or porous surface, or if you're changing colors drastically, it's usually recommended to apply a primer coat first to ensure better coverage and adhesion of the new paint.
|
Stir the paint |
Use a stir stick to thoroughly mix the paint before application. This will ensure consistent color and texture.
|
Cut in the edges |
First, TEST an inconspicuous swatch.
Use a brush to "cut in" along the edges of the walls, around trim, corners, and ceiling. This will create a neat border for the main painting process. Do not work out of the container. |
Roll the walls |
Use a sprayer, roller, or nylon polyester brush to apply one liberal coat. Choose a roller brush with the appropriate nap length for your walls (smooth, semi-smooth, or textured). Dip the roller into the paint tray, removing any excess paint, and then apply it to the walls using even vertical or diagonal strokes. Work in manageable sections to prevent the paint from drying or forming visible edges.
Stir paint occasionally during use. For airless spray application, a .015 orifice wit desired fan size is recommended. For best results, store and use only when temperature is between 55-90°F (19-32°C) and relative humidity is below 85%. |
ApplyING multiple coats (IF NEEDED) |
Depending on the desired finish and the colors you've chosen, you may need to apply multiple coats. Allow each coat to dry fully before applying the next one. Re-coat until desired coverage is achieved.
|
DRY TIME |
Allow to dry 1 hour. Allow 2 hours for project re-coat time. Allow longer dry times for darker colors, cooler climates, damp / humid climates, and soft woods. |
Remove tape |
Once the paint is completely dry, remove the painter's tape carefully. Clean brushes, rollers, and any other tools using soap and water or according to the product instructions.
|
CLEAN UP |
Easy soap and water clean-up. Close lid securely. STORAGE Store product in cool, dry place, 50-90°F.
